issue 2:
editor’s letter

Hello there! It’s very exciting to be launching Issue 2 of Everly! You’re in for another dose of inspiring and feel-good content covering style, travel, arts and life. I hope Everly transports you to your happy place, and offers a chance to slow down and chill out from the rat race.

A huge thanks for all the lovely feedback after our first issue launched in 2020. It really makes all the long hours, second guessing and troubleshooting worth it to know that our little mag struck a chord with so many of you. Thank you for your patience over the past couple of months as I toiled away to bring Issue 2 to life. I’d wanted to bring it out much sooner, but life has definitely been throwing a myriad of big things my way throughout 2021. More on that later…

Travel is a big focus for Issue 2. It seems we’re all longing to get away, whether that’s close to home or further afield. And the overseas travel memories we’ve banked up over time are certainly getting a re-run in our heads, while we wait for travel restrictions to lift.

I’m very excited about our cover story featuring Danielle Greentree of Travel A Little Luxe, serving up dreamy destinations that’ll have you adding to your bucket list. It’s a breath of fresh air with honest advice and tips on luxurious destinations. Danielle’s passion for travel is infectious. I love her joyous, life-affirming attitude exuding from the front cover. Thanks for letting us share your remarkable story, Danielle!

Everly Magazine Issue 2

Continuing on the travel theme, you’ll see glorious travel photography from the talented Scotsman Stuart Mckay, and get your Paris fix from creative couple Oliver Gee and Lina Nordin Gee (while also hearing about creativity in lockdown).

We talk to the inimitable Mia Freedman about the Lady Startup movement, inspiring countless women to bring their business dreams to reality. (It was such a thrill to interview Mia and definitely something I’ll remember for a long time). Dior brings a reimagining of spring-summer styles, and we take a look at the brilliant documentary Firestarter: The story of Bangarra. A must-see!

And, if your soul needs a reminder of the good in the world, just flip to our stories about the kindness revolution sweeping NZ (thanks to Good B*tches Baking), and the creatives behind Pub Choir who bring endless amounts of joy through human connection.

Thanks to everyone who made this edition possible… from our interviewees, to Marie (it’s a pleasure working with you on design), family and friends who have checked in along the way, and to my little sidekick who has kept me company over the past few months (I can’t wait to meet you).

To our readers, I hope you enjoy the stories that fill Issue 2. Your support and encouragement is what keeps this little magazine going – merci beaucoup! I can’t wait to see your photos when this issue hits your mailbox/inbox. Everly is a love letter to style, travel, arts and life. May the love letters continue.

Until next time,
